Synopsis

In this dark yet comedic coming-of-age story, a boy enters his bar mitzvah year on a southern Israel kibbutz in the 1970s. Trying to reconcile the community’s motto of equality with the reality that his mentally ill mother has been abandoned, he comes to learn that not every person fits into Utopia.
