Masters of cinema, director Carlos Saura and cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, join forces to create
one of the purest and most stunning performance films ever made. Flamenco was shot in its
entirety in a converted train station with no set other than elegantly lit screens and the exceptional
talents of 300 of the world's greatest singers, musicians and dancers. The resulting performances
range in emotion from heartbreak to elation, reaching a simply thrilling level of virtuosity and energy.
Carlos Saura, one of Spain's leading filmmakers, has become internationally renowned for his integration of music,
dance and film, particularly with Carmen, Blood Wedding and Sevillanas. Vittorio Storaro, who has won
Academy Awards for "The Last Emperor", "Reds" and "Apocalypse Now", is acknowledged as one of the world's
greatest cinematographers.
